The Trustees, on behalf of Lakeside, would like to thank Boy Scout Troop 204 (sponsored by our United Methodist Men and all of Lakeside) for the following Eagle Scout projects which have helped our church:
+ The Gazebo renovation undertaken by Sam Taft, which included the replacement of missing or damaged wood, adding of benches to each side, pressure cleaning, priming, patching and painting.
+ The Fellowship Hall exterior renovation undertaken by Wayne Jackson which included pressure washing and cleaning, patching, priming, caulking and painting the entire outside of the building.
Both of these projects help our congregation and preserve our grounds. Well done, Scouts!
In addition, new windows have been installed on the west side of the Youth building, and new ceiling tiles have been installed in the Fellowship Hall. Our Trustees have been hard at work!
A NOTE FROM YOUR TREASURER:
•Did you know that the electric, water and trash bill for Lakeside averaged $2,571.44 a month for last year? That’s $84.54 a day! With fuel prices rising every day I expect it will be even more this year.
•Did you know that our lawn service will cost $5,920.00 this year? That’s $16.22 a day!
•Did you know that our payroll for our nine staff members, including our part time pastor, for 2007 is $1,456.00 per week? That’s $208.00 a day! Our volunteers, however, are priceless, and we certainly couldn’t get along without them!
Our church is active all week long, not only on Sunday mornings. Unfortunately we tend to forget that there are bills and workers that need to be paid, just as much as volunteers are needed to help reach out to our neighbors.
If you are a member of Lakeside and we haven’t seen you for a while, please remember that when you joined the church you promised to support Lakeside with “your prayers, your presence, your gifts and your service”.
Unless you are limited by distance or health concerns:
We’d like to see your smiling faces on Sunday morning—service starts at 10:00 am, Sunday school at 8:45
We’d like to see you in the choir
We’d like to see you on Tuesday morning for prayer group
We’d like to see you on Wednesday at 6:00 PM for pot luck
We’d like to see you help distribute food at SHARE
We’d like to see you help feed the hungry at Matthew Meals
We’d like to see you at ALPHA or at a Lenten or Advent Bible Study
We’d like to see you on a Trustee work day, helping to clean the church or repair something that needs fixing.
We’d like to see you at a United Methodist Men’s meeting or a United Methodist Women’s meeting.
Stewardship is not only about money. We need the support of all our members and friends if we are to continue to minister to our community. We have truly been blessed; please help us to continue to grow in God’s grace.
